⚡ Quick Summary
The short version: a good stocking stuffer for a Tesla owner is small, costs under $25, and still fits the car when you don’t know the year. Five of the seven below pass that test. The other two need a closer look at the car, and I say so on the cards.
- Fits any car: a tread depth gauge, or a pack of waffle-weave glass towels.
- Fits a Model 3 or Model Y without knowing the year: a key card sleeve for the keyring, a pair of rear vent covers, or a set of jack pads.
- Needs the year: a cup holder insert. There is one for the older cars and one for the redesigned ones.
- Needs the wheels: a matte black rim touch-up pen, only if you have seen black 20-inch Induction wheels on the car.
- Skip: key rings and key jewelry, stick-on card holders for the phone, anything for the 12V outlet, wet screen wipes and spray-on wheel cleaner. The reasons are below, and most of them come from Tesla’s own manual.

Small gifts have a fit problem too
A stocking stuffer for a Tesla owner has two limits that a bigger gift doesn’t. It has to be small, and at this price it is usually bought by someone who doesn’t know much about the car. That second limit is the one that causes trouble. A lot of cheap Tesla accessories are molded to one generation of the car, and the listing doesn’t always make that clear.
So I sorted these by how much you need to know. The first two fit any car at all. The next three fit a Model 3 or a Model Y of nearly any year, and each card quotes the years its listing gives. The last two need more. The cup holder insert comes in two versions, and you need the year to pick the right one. The rim pen is one colour, and you need to have seen the wheels. Everything here is judged against our own cars and our own miles, with no press cars and no loaners.
The console tray was a gift from my wife. It’s very handy for keeping small items on top and easily accessible. That is the kind of small gift this page is after.
This page is the small end of our gifts for Tesla owners guide, which goes up to $100. If you are looking for Tesla stocking stuffers and nothing else, you are in the right place. Three of the picks appear on both pages. The other four are only here.
A note on the $25 line. I don’t print prices or star ratings on this site, because they change every week and I would rather you see the real number on the listing. Every item below was under $25 when I checked on October 12, 2026. One of them was close to the line, and I point it out on the card. Check before you order.
Stuffers that fit any car
Start here if all you know is that they drive a Tesla. Neither of these is a Tesla part, so there is nothing to get wrong.
A tread depth gauge
The car shows you tire pressure on the screen. It does not show you how much tread is left, and tread is the number that decides when the tires get replaced. Tesla’s manual is direct about it: “Tires with a tread depth less than 4/32 in. (3 mm) are more likely to hydroplane in wet conditions and should not be used.”
A tread gauge is also how you know when a rotation is due. The manual says “Tesla recommends rotating the tires every 6,250 miles (10,000 km),” or sooner if the tread depth between tires differs by 2/32 of an inch. You can’t see a difference that small. You can measure it in about a minute with a gauge. A tire shop rotates ours every 10,000 miles, which is a longer interval than Tesla’s, and that is one more reason to check the tread yourself between visits. I also know what a full set costs. On our 2023 Model Y a nail near the sidewall could not be repaired, and we ended up replacing all four tires. Our Tesla tire care guide covers rotation, pressure and when to replace.
GODESON Dial Tire Tread Depth Gauge
Why it’s here: it is a dial gauge with a probe that goes into the tread groove. The listing says it “reads in 1/32 inch increments,” which is the unit Tesla’s manual uses, and describes a 2 inch dial with coloured zones and a “solid zinc casting body.” It is small enough to drop into a stocking with room to spare.
Fits: any car. The listing title says “for Motorcycle, car,Truck and Bus.” Not Tesla-specific.
Waffle-weave glass towels
Every Tesla owner ends up wiping glass and camera lenses, usually with whatever towel is nearby. Tesla’s manual says to “clean windows and mirrors using an automotive glass cleaner,” and for a dirty camera it says to spray water on the lens and dry it “with a microfiber cloth.” It also says “do not use chemical-based or abrasive cleaners” on the lens. A clean, soft towel that lives in the door pocket is the tool for both jobs.
Towels alone are the stocking version of this gift. The full kit in our bigger gift guide adds two cans of glass cleaner, and those don’t fit in a stocking. If the haze is on the inside of the windshield in front of the cameras, a towel can’t reach it, and our guide to cleaning the windshield cameras shows how that job is done. For washing the rest of the car, see our Wash Mode guide.
The Rag Company Waffle Weave Towels, 3-Pack
Why it’s here: three 16 by 16 inch waffle-weave microfiber towels. The listing calls them “Lint-Free, Streak-Free” and says they are for “Windows (The Best!), Shiny Metals & Drying Small Areas.” Three is the right number, because one can stay in each car and one can be in the wash. They fold flat.
Fits: any car. Not Tesla-specific. The listing has a selector for colour, size and count, so confirm it reads 16 by 16 inches and a pack of 3 before you add it to the cart.
Stuffers that fit a Model 3 or Model Y without knowing the year
For these three you need to know it is a Model 3 or a Model Y. You don’t need the year, unless the car is one of the very first Model 3s from 2017 or 2018. Each listing covers the older cars and the redesigned ones, and I quote the fitment line on each card so you can check it against the listing yourself.
A key card sleeve
On these cars the phone is the key, and a plastic key card is the backup. The manual says: “In situations where your phone key has a dead battery, or is lost or stolen, use your key card.” It also says “Remember to bring a key with you when you drive.” The trouble with a bare card is that it ends up in a drawer at home, which is no help in a parking lot with a dead phone.
A silicone sleeve with a ring puts the card on the house keys. My own card lives in my wallet, which works just as well, so I don’t use a sleeve myself. It is the right small gift for an owner who doesn’t carry a wallet, and for the second driver in the house who never took a card at all. Our guide to getting locked out of a Tesla covers the other ways back in.
Silicone Key Card Holder, 2-Pack with Keychains
Why it’s here: two sleeves and two keychains, one for each card or each driver. The listing describes “a grippy exterior so the card does not slide on the smooth console,” and says the pack includes “2 Key Card Covers, 2 Key Chains, 2 Screwdrivers.”
Fits: per the listing, “2017-2025 2026 Tesla Model 3 and 2020-2025 2026 Model Y, Cybertruck And Rivian.” The listing does not name the Model S or Model X, so skip it for those.
Rear vent covers
This is the least expensive thing on the page, and it is the kind of item an owner does not know exists until someone hands it to them. Under the front seats of a Model 3 or Model Y there are air openings, down low where crumbs and dropped coins end up. The listing calls them the “air vents under the seat,” and these are mesh covers that stick over them. The listing says the mesh has “1mm ultra-fine mesh holes that do not affect the seat’s ventilation while preventing small objects such as dust, debris, coins, rings, and trash from falling into the air vent.” Nothing about them is exciting. They are a good stuffer for an owner with kids or a dog in the back seat.
They are also on our first Tesla accessories list, which is the page to send a brand-new owner to. I run them in both of our Model Ys.
CYBERBEANS Backseat Air Vent Covers, 2-Pack
Why it’s here: two covers in the pack, and small enough to tuck into the toe of a stocking. The listing calls it a “5-second installation” with a “self-adhesive design that adheres directly to the vent surface and is easy to remove, clean and reinstall.” It is a first-month accessory that most owners never get around to buying.
Fits: the listing title says “2017-2025/2026 Juniper/Highland,” and its first bullet lists “Tesla Model Y and Model3 2019 2020 2021 2022 2023 2024 2025 2026.” The two don’t agree about 2017 and 2018, so I go with the bullet and treat it as 2019 and newer. That still covers both generations of both cars. The listing does not address the individual trims, so if the car is a 2026 Standard, keep the gift receipt.
Jack pads
The battery sits under the floor of a Tesla, so the car can’t be lifted just anywhere. Tesla’s manual says to “position the lift arm pads under the designated body lift points at the locations shown.” It warns that “lifting at any other points can cause damage,” and that “damage caused by incorrectly lifting Model Y is not covered by the warranty.” A jack pad is a rubber puck with a post that sits in the lift point, so the jack lands where it should.
Most tire shops have the right equipment for a Tesla now, so this gift is for the owner who rotates or fixes their own tires at home. I own a set, though a tire shop does our rotations. It is the bulkiest item on this list, four pucks in a zip pouch, so it suits a big stocking or the space under the tree. Lifting and flat repair are covered in our jack pads and tire repair kit guide.
Yieokei Tesla Jack Pads, 4-Pack with Storage Case
Why it’s here: four one-piece rubber pads in a pouch that lives in the trunk well. The listing says the post that goes into the lift point is “0.9 inch (24 mm),” and the set includes a small tire plug kit. It was the most expensive pick here when I checked, and still under the line.
Fits: per the listing, “2016-2026 Tesla Model 3/Y/S/X,” and it adds “Fit Model Y Juniper.” The listing does not name the Cybertruck.
The two where you need a closer look at the car
A cup holder insert
The cup holders in a Model 3 or Model Y are down in the center console. Coffee that drips down the side of a cup collects at the bottom, and it is awkward to clean out. An insert is a liner that drops into the holders and lifts out to be rinsed in the sink. It also holds a narrow can or bottle more snugly. It is a simple thing that gets used on every drive.
The catch is the console. Tesla redesigned the Model 3 for 2024 and the Model Y for 2025, and sellers call the new cars Highland and Juniper. The Spigen listing below says outright that its insert does not fit the redesigned cars, so the year matters for this one. To find the year without giving away the surprise, look at the registration or the insurance card. Our phone mount and console organizer guide goes through the console differences, and the Juniper accessories guide lists what else changed on the new Model Y. We use one in both of our Model Ys.
Cup Holder Insert: Spigen (older cars) or Motrobe (2024 and newer Model 3, 2025 and newer Model Y)
Why they’re here: each is a liner made for one console. The Motrobe listing describes “high-density silicone” with “a 2.76″ (70mm) inner base,” says it “allows for quick removal and rinsing,” and warns it is “not compatible with 32/40oz flasks or wide-base mugs.” So it is for ordinary cups, cans and bottles. The Spigen listing says it “wipes down quickly with ease” and “accommodates cup sizes up to Trenta.” The Spigen was the item closest to the $25 line when I checked.
Fits: the Spigen listing says “Only compatible with the Tesla Model 3 (2021-2023) and Model Y (2021-2024),” and “Not compatible with Tesla Model 3 Highland (2024/2025) and Model Y Juniper (2025/2026).” The Motrobe listing says it is for the “Tesla Model Y Juniper 2025 2026 (Standard/Premium/Performance), Model Y L (Premium) 2026 [6-seat interior], and 2024 2025 2026 Model 3 Highland.” Neither listing covers a 2017 to 2020 Model 3 or a 2020 Model Y, so skip this gift for those.

A rim touch-up pen
Curb rash is the scrape along the edge of a wheel from a parking curb, and on a black wheel every mark shows. A touch-up pen is a small tube of colour-matched paint that covers the chip. The listing says it can “seal away the scratch to prevent future corrosion,” which is the real reason to bother: a bare scrape on an alloy wheel is where corrosion starts. Parking curbs are also what broke the hard mud flaps on our 2024 Model Y, a story that is in the main gift guide.
Only buy this if you have seen black 20-inch Induction wheels on the car. The pen is one colour, matte black, and the listing matches it to one wheel. If the car’s wheels are silver, or a different black, it is the wrong colour, and a wrong-colour touch-up looks worse than the scratch. Look at the car in the driveway before you order. If you can’t, buy the towels instead.
SYOAUTO Matte Black Rim Touch-Up Paint Pen
Why it’s here: a pen tip for small chips and a brush for bigger dings, in one tube. The listing says to “clean and degrease the surface, and shake it for about 2 minutes,” that “the pen works well for small chips, the brush can cover larger dings,” and that it “will dry within 10 minutes.” It also suggests practising “on some scrap metal or cardboard” first. It fits in the toe of a stocking.
Fits: one colour only. The listing says “the matte black rim paint can match Tesla Model Y 20″ Induction Wheel.” Only if you have seen black 20-inch Induction wheels on the car. Not for silver wheels, and not for any other black.
Small gifts I would leave on the shelf
Most of the bad Tesla accessories are the cheap ones. These five turn up on stocking stuffer lists every year. Our longer list is the article on Tesla accessories that are a waste of money.
- Key rings and key jewelry. I asked for one of the RFID key rings and was given it. It was not very durable, and I threw it out after a few months. The key card in a wallet or a sleeve does the same job.
- A stick-on card holder for the back of the phone. It puts the key card between the phone and the car’s charging pad. The manual says to remove “any NFC cards (for example, the vehicle key card, credit cards, or hotel key) placed on or behind the phone,” and warns that “damage to NFC cards can occur when you charge the phone without first removing the card.”
- Anything that plugs into the 12V outlet. Small fans, cup warmers and plug-in air fresheners are all stocking size. The manual’s advice is to “not plug any non-Tesla accessories, including power inverters, into the low voltage power outlet.”
- Wet screen wipes. They are sold as touchscreen cleaners. For the touchscreen the manual says “do not use a wet wipe,” and it rules out “cleaners (such as a glass cleaner)” and alcohol-based gels too.
- Spray-on wheel cleaner. It looks like a safe gift for someone who keeps the car clean. The manual says: “Do not use chemical based wheel cleaners or pre-wash products. These can damage the finish on the wheels.”

Frequently Asked Questions
What if I don’t know which Tesla they drive?
Buy the towels or the tread gauge. Neither one is a Tesla part, so they work on a Model S, a Model X or a Cybertruck too. If you know it is a Cybertruck, the key card sleeve is the only other pick on this page whose listing names the truck.
Can the waffle towels be used on the touchscreen?
Dry, yes, with one caution from the manual. It asks for “a soft lint-free cloth specifically designed to clean monitors and displays,” and it warns against “a dry statically-charged cloth (such as a recently washed microfiber).” So don’t use one straight out of the dryer. I wipe our screens with the car in Screen Clean Mode every time, because otherwise the cloth changes settings as it goes. None of our three cars has a screen protector, and our article on whether a Tesla needs one explains why.
What is a good stocking stuffer for a new Tesla owner?
The key card sleeve and the vent covers. A new owner has not lost the card yet and has not looked under the seats yet. For the bigger things a new owner needs, floor mats first, our Model Y accessories guide lists what fits which years. If the new owner is a new driver as well, see our guide to a used Model 3 as a teen’s first car.
What if I want to spend a little more than $25?
The next step up is a good digital tire pressure gauge or a pocket power bank, and both still fit in a stocking. They are in the under $50 section of the main gift guide, along with the picks that go up to $100.
Our Honest Verdict
If you know nothing about the car, buy the waffle towels. Every owner wipes glass, and towels wear out. Buy the tread gauge for an owner who pays attention to their tires, because the car doesn’t measure tread for them.
If you know it is a Model 3 or a Model Y, add the key card sleeve for anyone who doesn’t carry a wallet, and the vent covers for anyone with kids or a dog. Buy the jack pads only for an owner who works on their own tires.
Buy the cup holder insert only if you know the year, and match it to the right version. Buy the rim pen only if you have seen black 20-inch Induction wheels on the car.
Skip the key ring, the stick-on card holder, anything for the 12V outlet, wet screen wipes and wheel cleaner. I was given the ring and threw it out.
